I’m Elena, glad to meet you!
About Me
I want to keep this section short since who I am is all over this blog. I’m 23… so, here are 23 things about me that I believe define who I am and what I believe in:
I was born in Italy but have also lived in Spain, Chile, and currently, Denmark. (Yes, it’s a bit of a whirlwind.)
I am as unhinged and spontaneous as it gets, which probably led me to start this blog.
My childhood dream was to become a writer or journalist. I studied languages in high school, got a bachelor’s in International Economics and Management, worked in finance, and now I’m pursuing a Master’s in tech. Confused? Imagine how I feel! (If the point of this journey was meeting the amazing people I have in my life, then it was all worth it.)
At 16, I was studying English, German, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. Now, I still need to learn how to order at a restaurant in Danish (I feel very bad about it).
I have 116,880 photos on my phone. As predictable as it sounds, I love taking pictures of landscapes, friends, and random strangers.
I feel everything deeply, which is both a blessing and a curse. Living intensely can teach you real happiness or break you apart; there’s no in-between.
I used to see things as black or white; now, I see that life comes with many different colors.
Traveling is a huge part of me and helps me continuously slide between different cultures.
I have been to Easter Island, lived in small & big cities and right in front of the Pacific Ocean.
According to statistics, I am a frequent flyer, yet I’m still scared of flying.
I love hard, live hard, and never want to wonder “what if?” as I’m strong and self-ironic enough to get over whatever I do.
I think a lot.
Writing has always been my coping mechanism.
I love meeting people.
I love helping people meet even more.
I am addicted to coffee. Five strong espressos a day, and I can move mountains.
I don’t believe in clichés. I’m Italian but don’t like cooking, and I like pineapple on pizza.
I believe in positivity and that complaining is never the solution. Why be the victim of your own story when you can be the main character?
Gratitude is fundamental to who I am. Nothing is guaranteed, even if we rarely realize it.
I am always thousands of kilometers away from my family and loved ones. Accepting that the people I care about will never be in the same place was tough, but it made me appreciate the present and the time I get with them.
I am a huge Taylor Swift fan (guilty) and could listen to music 24/7.
I am incredibly curious and believe you can never stop discovering things.
My eyes are green, blue is my favorite color, I like my nails long and bright red and I take my coffee with no sugar.
Always wear your heart on your sleeves, stay curious, be intense, true to yourself and you’ll never go wrong <3
Lots of love,
Elena
